Our programs are broken into two main divisions; The "LifeLine" and Resource & Training.

The “Lifeline” is the initial entry point for exposure to the programs of City of Refuge. Our mission is to meet the initial needs of the last, the lost and the least of the city of Atlanta. This entry point gives the greatest opportunity for both volunteerism and charitable support. Our purpose is to take literally the words of Christ in Luke 14:23 to “go into the highways and byways and compel them to come in” to the Master’s banquet.

The Resource and Training Department of City of Refuge has been established to provide tools and provisions that will enable individuals and families to make positive, long term changes in their lives. While the outreach programs of the “Lifeline” provide immediate, short term assistance in times of crisis, and service delivery is based purely upon need; “Resource and Training” are provided over months, even years, and service delivery is based upon a demonstrated commitment, and capacity, to change.

Clothing Closet

Our clothes closet is stocked with new and gently used clothing that we provide to those living on the streets of Atlanta. Clothing is a basic necessity that most of us take for granted, while most homeless people have little more than the clothes on their backs. Not only are these individuals deprived protection from the elements, but they are also unable to move beyond their circumstances. For instance, how can a person interview for a job without clean clothing and decent shoes? By providing fresh clothes, we hope to help restore the dignity and sense of self-worth to our brothers and sisters, thus empowering them for greater opportunities at success.

Schedule
The Clothes Closet is open during the hours of the "Safe Haven." We are always looking for donations of new and like new clothing, shoes and toiletries. If you would like to volunteer or to make a donation please contact Brandy in the Resouce Center.

Volunteer Opportunities
"Safe Haven" allows our brothers and sisters from the streets to come in for a time of refuge and gives us great opportunity to serve them. We need loving people to minister to our friends, by donating and helping us to sort, fold, and distribute clothing and related items.

Donation Opportunities
We need donations of toiletry items such as deodorant, soap, shampoo, razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste and towels, or donation of cash to purchase these items.

We have a constant need for new and like new clothing for people of all ages. We also are looking for donations of new socks and underwear for men, women, and children.
